Rhythm and Regulation Summer Camp Registration

Is your child constantly drumming on the table when their hands are free?

Is their body always bouncing to some kind of beat?

Welcome to Rhythm and Regulation, an inclusive bucket drumming group for kids ages 9-13, led by neurodivergent music therapist Nicole Steinley.

This group is designed to be accessible for neurodivergent kids by providing flexible choices for participation such as movement breaks, multiple methods of instruction, and adapted parts.

We know that listening and learning look different for each kid, so sitting still is never a requirement of this group, and kids will be encouraged to use quiet rhythmic tools to support regulation when they need to wait for a turn or instructions.

Many neurodivergent kids have a strong internal sense of rhythm, so drumming can be a great way to channel energy, support regulation, and connect with others.

While the group is designed to be accessible for neurodivergent kids, anyone is welcome to join us and no musical background is required! If your child needs extra support in a group setting (i.e. might struggle to attend alone) or you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to Nicole at nicole@preludemusic.ca to see if Rhythm and Regulation will be the right fit for you!
